Nicosia Tourism Board (NTB)
Nicosia Tourism Board was established in 2007 by the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with the Nicosia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as a private non-for-profit entity. Its mission is the development and promotion of the Nicosia district as a tourism destination.
Its main objectives include the development and promotion of Nicosia in the areas of: Cultural Tourism, paying particular attention in cultural heritage, creative tourism, religious, gastronomy, architecture and culinary tourism, Conferences and Business Tourism, Educational tourism, medical tourism, Sports tourism and ecotourism.
The collaboration towards the achievement of its mission is being secured by the company’s statute, where members of the Board of Directors are, the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, all the Nicosia district municipalities and other key stakeholders, such as Nicosia Hotels Association, Travel Agents, Association of Cyprus Tourist Enterprises, museums etc.
In addition, one of the key activities of the NTB is the continuous education and training of the city’s potential tourism stakeholders and the improvement of their professional skills, in key identified areas, for the further improvement of Nicosia’s tourism product and its branding as a tourism destination. Taking into consideration the tourists’ needs, in conjunction with the organisation’s strategic plan and the National Tourism Strategy, NTB concentrates its attention mainly on the areas of Digital transformation (Digitalization, Digital Skills & Digital Marketing), Product Development, Green skills development, SMEs Sustainable Development, Policy Instruments improvement, Urban regeneration, Education and Training, etc.
